What is the State Fair of Texas?
The State Fair of Texas is an annual state fair held in Dallas, Texas at historic Fair Park; the Fair has taken place every year since 1886. The State Fair of Texas celebrates all things Texan by promoting agriculture, education, and community involvement through quality entertainment in a family-friendly environment.
This year at the State Fair of Texas patrons will enjoy daily shows, live music, shopping, auto shows, a college football game and much, much more.
Each year, State Fair concessionaires fry up tasty and unique foods for a chance to become a finalist in the Big Tex Choice Awards. Everything from Fried Beer to Fried Peaches and Cream have made the cut to become a part of an exclusive club. This year’s winners were: Fernie’s Holy Moly Carrot Cake Roly and a Smoky Bacon Margarita. Past years winners features dishes like: Chicken Fried Lobster with Champagne Gravy, Fried Beer-Batter Buffalo, Deep Fried Alligator’s Egg Nest and more.
The Fair this year, will be featuring live shows and music from artists like: The Beach Boys, Lecrae, Craig Wayne Boyd, Kevin Fowler, MercyMe and many more.
The 2015 State Fair of Texas will run September 25 – October 18. Gates will open Friday, September 25, at 10 a.m.
